This weeks theme is: Top Ten! Pretty self-explanatory, just talk about your top ten favorite movies. Make sure you check to what the upcoming Monday Movie Memes are!

Here are my favorite movies, in no particular order…
1. The Lion King
This one actually is in particular order. The Lion King, as I’ve talked about many times before, is my favorite movie of all time. It was my first favorite movie and always will be my favorite movie. The soundtrack is fantastic, the comedy is on point, the life lessons are moving, and Mufasa and Rafiki have more wisdom than all the other Disney characters combined. Basically there’s nothing wrong with it.
2. 10 Things I Hate About You
I burn, I pine, I perish! This is a movie I’ve seen a million times because it lives in my DVD player. It’s the perfect movie for me to watch as I go to bed because there’s no bad part for me to start at. I know the movie inside and out, and I love all of it. I also quote it on a regular basis and sometimes people think I’m intellectual and quoting Shakespeare…but it’s really 10 Things I Hate About You.
P.S. If I ever yell “I need agua!” I’m not being rude, I’m being Kat.
I’ve also talked about my passionate love for Aladdin & Jasmine before and how they are my ultimate OTP. Like The Lion King, the soundtrack and comedy in this are bomb.com (Do people still say that? No? Okay, sorry.). Another important note is that, because of this movie, if you reach out your hand to me ask: “Do you trust me?” I will fall in love with you.
4. The Dark Knight
Batman is my favorite superhero and my passion for him ignited when I saw The Dark Knight for the first time. My father is obsessed with superheroes (he even named my brother, Logan, after his favorite hero: Wolverine) so I grew up learning everything there was to know about superheroes, but I never had a clear-cut favorite. That was until Christopher Nolan came along and changed my world. Since 2008 I’ve been undeniab-ly obsessed with Batman and I’m pretty sure everyone I know has showed me every Batman meme on the internet.
5. The Departed
♫♪Good cops and bad cops, and Matt f#cking Damon. Whalberg and Leo and accents from Boston.
Criminals, suspense and mafia kings,
These are a few of my favorite things.♪♫
6. Jurassic Park
While I’ve talked about my excitement for Jurassic World on several occasions, I’ve yet to delve into my love for Jurassic Park. One thing I love about this movie is that I’m always finding out about little details, symbols and metaphors that I didn’t know before. Here’s my favorite one: You know when everyone is arriving to the island in the helicopter? Remember how Dr. Alan Grant couldn’t fasten his seatbelt because he had two “female” pieces and ended up tying them together? Much like all the dinosaurs on the island were female but still manage to breed…because “life finds a way.” *BOOM*
7. The Outsiders
Stay gold, Ponyboy! I’ve talked about this book before and I have all the same feelings for the movie. This is one book-to-movie adaptation where I actually saw the movie before I read the book. My mom showed The Outsiders to me and my sister and ruined the night because we were so depressed. But the next day we wanted to watch it again. So I guess we kind of fell in love with it or something.
8. The Princess Bride
My love for this movie is like a storybook story. It has everything: fencing, fighting, torture, revenge, giants, monsters, chases, escapes, true love, miracles… This movie (and book) is great for many reasons, but the one that’s the most impressive is that the movie is really two stories. The story of “The Princess Bride” is great enough to stand on its own. But the movie isn’t really about Westley or Buttercup or Inigo…it’s about a grandfather finding a way to connect and bond with his grandson through a book. It’s beautiful.
9. Toy Story
As I mentioned in last week’s Monday Movie Meme, my love for Toy Story is unreal. Woody has always been one of my favorite characters — my Woody doll (complete with my name of the bottom of his boot) is probably my most prized possession. My dream is to one day meet Tom Hanks and have him tell me that I am his favorite deputy
and then immediately break down in tears.
10. Good Will Hunting
Matt and Ben in Boston is always a formula for success in my book. Not to mention it stars the late and great Robin Williams and Casey Affleck is my spirit animal in this movie (“but we got snacks now!”). Additionally, if you tell your friends you “gotta go see about a girl” before talking to me I will fall in love with you.
